Pros: Lots of expansion since loads of cards operate on PCI, good rear I/O, good amount of sata ports, high RAM limit, overclocks pretty well.
Cons: Doesn't have as many fan ports as something like the P5Q-E and they're in awkward places so if you have a big case with a lot of front fans, you might need a lot of stupid MOLEX adapters. The big hit to this board is its chipset - P43 doesn't overclock as well as P45; my Q8400 that hit 3.73GHz on a P45 only hit 3.3GHz or so on this board because the P43 FSB doesn't go past 411MHz.
Overall Review: It's a solid board and I'd have no problem basing a system off of this, but the P5Q-E is just better. Also of note is how trash this variant of Speedstep is, with any Core 2.. you run a Q8400 at 3.73GHz, its idle state is.. 2.75GHz?! Not good, wonder if there's a setting for it.
Pros: Just a Excellent MoBo - No issues and came with all you needed for a Great Mid-Level Build with 16 Gig supported RAM with 4 slots.
Cons: Could have came with Locking SATA connectors, but what the hey - i bought some from NewEgg.
Pros: Price, 1066 memory, PCI Express 2.0 x 16, good CPU types to pick from, it is an Asus, did I mention price?
Cons: I was another one of the unlucky ones that got malfunctioning board on arrival so I can't quite say how good or bad it is other than that this board seems to have too many problems. Don't bother calling or emailing Asus tech support either.
Overall Review: Great budget motherboard if it works but pretty unreliable on quality control. I'd shell out the few extra bucks and get something nicer, which I did.

Pros: Smaller than your average ATX boards, this thing is a perfect upgrade for those stepping up into the SATA range. This board gives the user full control for their overclocking needs.
Cons: Unless you're experienced with overclocking you'll find yourself overwhelmed quickly. Also when overclocking, the EPU-4 Engine is disabled. Some things have been laid out strangely than any other board I've seen. Not a con or a pro, rather depends on the user I guess, but this board has no on-board graphics card so make sure you buy one or have one before buying the board.
Overall Review: Bought this as an open box deal on Newegg. Being an open box I expected it to likely fail or have defects. Other than no I/O shield or accessories (Easily bought from ASUS directly.) with it the board runs perfectly. Amazing board and deal. Thanks Newegg!
Pros: A Great motherboard. Easy install (awesome removable power/reset switch block). Plenty of connections. My Kingston HyperX 1066 RAM is operating at full speed. Its also nice that is a bit smaller than the older ATX motherboards, still fits in standard ATX cases though :).
Cons: None.
Pros: Like the idea of 16 gigs mem, but who can afford it?
Cons: A good video card does block 1 pci ex1 slot, but luckally I only am using 1 for my tv card.
Overall Review: This is my 2nd pq5l pro. BOTH are working great, but was having problems with locking up after 1-2 min from start up. Was doing this at default and over clock. I UNDER clocked a tad and works fine. Just went from 1066 to 992 in bios. Used asus suite to under clock cpu speed also. Actually seems to work better than standard of 2.66 with 1066. My opinon at least.
Pros: It hold 16GB of ram, big whoop if you can call this a 'PRO'.
Cons: It runs fine for about a week and then it just crashes. I thought at first that it might be my ram because it is 1066Mhz(CORSAIR TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF 4gb kit). Tested it several times and it passed, tried 800Mhz (CORSAIR TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4gb kit) Ram still crashes for no reason. Checked windows no errors in the log files so it is defintely a board problem. I change something in the Bios and save it and exit and it stalls again. I pretty much have to reset my jumpers on a daily basis. I would steer Clear of this board. I love Asus I never use any other board when I build machines but, if they can't make this right I will be switching to Gigabyte. I am really fed up with this board. This is my second board my first one they said I broke and they sent it back to me or gave me the option to pay $90 to repair(more than i paid for the board new) something that happened in shipping.
Overall Review: I would really think twice about getting this board the company I bought this from no longer carries this board because they have so many returns for it. It just simply is poorly made, every other ASUS board I used to build other peoples machines works flawless just this one is garbage. I sure hope they make this right or they will definitely lose a customer.

Pros: Everything else on the board seems to work fine.
Cons: The LAN port on this mobo doesn't work. Neither Linux nor vista are able to detect it. Had to use an old PCI LAN card.
Overall Review: I didn't build this PC right away and the RMA period ran out before I knew the LAN port was no good. Now I'm stuck w/ trying to contact asus for a warranty repair. :(
